If Deluge were to be summed up in one word upon first meeting him it would be 'jerk'. Brash and boastful, he isn't afraid to speak his mind or throw his weight around and will openly flirt or tease given the opportunity. But despite cocky, offensive behavior Deluge is highly charismatic and is known to let down his strong front on rare occasions in favor of something more caring and protective to those who earn it.
This isn't easy to achieve, however, as millions of years of war and slaughter have left him somewhat closed off to kinder, sympathetic emotions. And while slow to anger, when rage hits him he is prone to slipping into crueler, more violent actions. This darkness within him and the memories of war plague him to the point of restless sleep and nightmares, but it is something he's unsure he can ever let go of. He hates the monster inside, but has learned to embrace it all the same.
Firefighting: His first career and general function due to his altmode. Deluge is well versed in the task of quelling fires of all types, his internal tanks equipped with different mixtures for different situations. This includes substances such as water, foams, gels, etc. A retractable faceplate sees to filtering out airborne toxins and smoke as well while a standard issue axe is always on hand for chopping down obstructions to get someone to safety.
Heavy Weapons/Explosives: Deluge's bread and butter. Over the years he's grown fond of heavy weaponry and things that go boom, usually one to trade up a sidearm for a gattling gun or keep a dangerous amount of grenades around his person. This is less so on the Lost Light, but he still keeps a hefty stash somewhere in his room in case of emergencies.
Deluge was forged like many of the time and subsequently set to work based on his natural skills and altmode affinity, quickly placed in the position of a firefighter and rescuer. While some tended to get tired of their jobs or resent being put in them, Deluge's thrill seeking and dangerous attitude made him perfectly content with where he was. But things would change with the start of the war and so would he.
Siding with the Autobots in hopes of changing things for the better and helping people, Deluge would be thrust into the horrid truth that was their war. Expecting to use his rescue skills, he was instead forged into a frontline warrior, unafraid of succumbing to death or dealing it out in mass quantities. Fighting with a steadily slipping psyche, it was only when he was tasked with special operations missions amongst a team of others that he numbed himself to the violence and embraced it as a form of helping others. The greater good.
So it was safe to say that Deluge would be a bit lost when the war ended, unsure of where to take his life. The only thing that was clear, however, was that he needed to get away from Cybertron to come to terms with himself. This reason would drive him to join the Lost Light to once again help people like he first did. It's here he easily slipped into the role of security personnel, keeping tabs on things and using his abilities when needed.
