Summary The Decepticons' impromptu extended stay on Ca goes from bad to worse as they (and their allies) come up against Collin, another of the hostile aliens, deep underground.

".... Rodimus, can you hear me? This is Percep..." The sniper-scientist curses as Blaster signals to him that the signal has been lost. Again. Ever since the Leading Light left the Lost Light to venture down to Ca, the main craft has been experiencing a number of 'unique situations'. One of them is infuriating static interference which is preventing the LL being able to message those on the ground. Among other things. Perceptor thumps a fist on the console before him. "Transmit anyway. Copy and put this on a loop," he requests of Blaster. "If you are hearing this, Rodimus or any other, we are unable to move. There has been some kind of event with the electromagnetic field of the planet and it has captured us. We are being held in, as we can best guess, a locked orbit somewhere above your current location. A mountain range that is showing an alarming level of subterranean tectonic activity. The field is also preventing our comminications from... scrap! The gravity generators are going! Why did you have to take Nautica with you, oh... no, edit that part out!" There's more going on than just on the surface of Ca.

But what IS happening down there? The Decepticons have been resourceful, sneaky and clever. On their own they have fashioned weaponry (or claimed it - please feel free to work with what you wish best) and found their way into the tunnels that the attackers emerged from. These tunnels run deep into the planet of Ca, but they all lead back to one place - a mountain range closer to where the Autobots landed. To cover more ground they have been forced to split up.

Those with Soundwave happen upon a room, or rather a cavern, that is spacious and open. The walls are light by shafts of light from vents cut to the surface, and on them are elaborate carvings and diagrams. Inset among them are pieces of metal - bits of beings native not of Ca but of Cybertron. Examining them in a large figure, similar to that of Carrin but garbed in an armor of stone. This is the Puritan that kicked Tailgate into the forest. Most of the parts embedded in the walls look older, though some are new, such as the ankle joint the figure holds in his hand as he examines it, back to the unnoticed arrivees.

Tailgate isn't much for fashioning weaponry out of organic matter-- but who can blame him? As a result he's fashioned out something not unlike a sling and a collection of rocks. He also picked out a long, sharp shard of wood after Breakdown was finished assaulting the trees, but for the most part he may be about as effective as he looks. We'll see.

With Soundwave, Tailgate is there at his legs when they come upon the cavern's mouth, and keeps at the Decepticon's flank as they sneak further inside the room lit by its numerous slats. If they can stay in the cover of the wall, maybe this can work!

Maybe he doesn't need to point it out-- but when Tailgate realizes what the metallic growths in the walls are, he prods Soundwave's thigh with one hand and lifts the other in a small gesture to them, staying silent.

Blast Off makes his way with the rest, hands bandaged by Knock Out. The sniper isn't particularly happy with any of this- not his injured hands, rendering him unable to properly hold and use a gun, nor being underground- in a tight spot where we can't simply fly up and away should he be surrounded again, nor in seeing pieces of Cybertronians lining the walls. No. This is definitely not going on his list of favorite excursions ever.

The Combaticon would feel so much better at least being able to carry his ionic blaster. Instead? He holds some of the spears that tore his hands to shreds to begin with. Gingerly. Using both his bandaged hands and arms to carry the load. He stays on extra alert, scanning the area for trouble- and oh look, there it is. He stops to gaze at the figure standing there, back turned to them. Normally he'd be lifting his blaster up, aiming, and waiting for the signal to fire. But... now what? He stares a moment, then turns to look at Soundwave for some direction. Not that he wants to admit as much. His arms tighten around the spears, but given that he doesn't hold much confidence in *spears*... he's not in a rush to try and use them.

Breakdown has, true to his word, fashioned a mighty club out of a massive log. It looks a lot more like blunt force trauma on wheels (or slung over his shoulder) than anything that he has a chance of wielding to a point, but the thing that it presents in his hands is a great deal of raw force: his stock in trade, really. It bumps companionably against the cannon, scraping over his shoulder pauldron on their march.

The relief that Soundwave has when he sees what they find is palpable. "It is not Megatron," he whispers to those with him in relief. Soundwave knows every part of his former master, in great detail. Not one of them on the walls belongs to Megatron. Rather, "... though they are familiar." That will have to wait, however. He has a newfound respect for the position he has put himself in, meaning if the parts were Megatron or not it does not matter. "This thing stands between us and our allies." That is what matters. "Blast Off, concentrate on the face. Breakdown, do what you do best. Tailgate... be useful." And where Knock Out is with Ravage and HighDef, he trusts they will handle themselves. "I shall distract it."

Stepping forward, as soon as Soundwave does the armored figure - Collin - turns. He shouts out words, harmonic - like music. But loud, so very loud. To this... Soundwave repeats it, right back at him. Which, for the moment gives Collin a stunned pause. This is your opening.

Tailgate's still looking at the walls when he makes a small sound of distress as Soundwave says the walls echo familiarity. He seems to only just realize it himself-- the paint, the size, the shape. "...Daytripper." Comes out in a whisper ust before the armored figure turns to face Soundwave's approach.

Be useful? Well-- alright. That sounds fake, but okay. The space allows him a small bit of movement, and he cuts to the side away from Soundwave and the other large bots, aiming to make himself elusive, perhaps. And get out of the way, of course.

"You got it, boss," Breakdown says. As Soundwave temporarily stuns their opponents, Breakdown lets out a holler of his own, and charges with his massive wooden club lifted in his hands to turn above his head and slam right through any resistance with all the force and power his strength and that of the wooden club can bring to bear. BREAKDOWN SMASH.

Blast Off gets the guidance he was looking for. He gives Soundwave a small nod of acknowledgement. The shuttleformer pushes down the uneasiness he feels being forced to fight in a manner he is not accustomed to. He's a sniper and this is NOT how snipers fight... but he's also a Combaticon. And he will show them what a Combaticon is made of. And a Combaticon doesn't run from combat. A Combaticon strikes fear in his enemies.... somehow.

When the word is given, Blast Off tries to get a handle on the spears, using his bandaged hand to clumsily grasp one. When Collin pauses in surprise, the Combaticon knows the time to strike is now. But aiming with a spear is so...so primitive. There's only one thing to do.... he launches himself forward, running towards the figure as he throws the spear at his face at (hopefully) close range. The spear feels so awkward and clumsy he isn't sure his success, but if that doesn't work, he might just have to get up close and personal.

Hopefully it won't come down to that.

And so everything seems to go ... right.

Collin shakes his armored head and looks up in time to see... the shadow of Breakdown coming down on him. That makeshift club hits with such sound and force that it cracks the armor on his shoulder. And it brings him down to a knee. Which is right in line with the spear Blast Off has tossed. It snaps his head back and that helmet shatters.

Tailgate, for the moment, if totally missed.

"If you understand me creature, there is no victory for you. Surrender now," Soundwave commands.

As the helmet shatters away Collin is revealed. He is... beautiful. Like some work of art. The Lefallin are a humanoid race with all the eyes and hair and features you would expect, and all arranged in an ornately decorated and aesthetically pleasing arrangement. Fury and rage radiate from his pure, clear blue eyes though his features do not contort with any kind of outward malice. His kind is unable to express such things. HIs hair, black and knotted with weavings of silver and gold, seem to stand on edge as he too takes to his feet and grabs at Breakdown. He is fast - faster without his rocky armor. That smashed shoulder's arm shoots out to nab Breakdown by the chest and then he swings, hurling Breakdown at Shockwave. When he speaks it is not to respond in Cybertronian but clearly he understands - he chooses not to speak in such a disgusting language! He rushes right for Blast Off, lowering his armored shoulder as he rams the shuttlecon.

These Cons hit hard. Tailgate moves long the wall and tries his best not to look at what is left of poor Daytripper, the scene playing in his mind all over again. The eager pilot didn't stand a chance. The minibot stops on the other side of the open space and fits one of his stowed rocks into the makeshift sling as Collin charges Blast Off. The moment of consideration before he whips it into the air at the Lefallin is almost tangible for a beat. He's so big that it'll probably be hard to miss, right?! Tailgate's all for the effort! Fwhip!

Beauty is subjective. Blast Off fails to see organics as particularly "beautiful". The Cybertronian form is the true pinnacle of beauty, you see. Of course, Blast Off considers himself among the more handsome, but that's neither here nor there right now. What *is* beautiful is how the spear shatters his helmet though. What is NOT beautiful is how Blast Off's armor gets dented as he's rammed into. "Gahhh!" It sends him flailing back, causing a small leak from just-barely repaired hands. Half instinctively, half deliberately, the Combaticon swings a foot around to attempt a hard uppercut to the alien's jaw even as he's shoved backwards towards the ground.

Thrown off his feat, Breakdown hurtles through the air with startling momentum, scrambling his arms as he tries to turn in midair, but aerodynamic maneuverability is not one of his strengths. "Heads up!"

The alert is all he needs. Soundwave has a lot of experiencing in catching his fellow Decepticons. Soundlessly, silently, he is always there for them. So as Breakdown comes at him he catches, spins and hurls the clobbercon right back at Collin.

As Blast Off is hit so is Collin. Right. In. The. Eye. And thus you learn that a Lefallin bleeds. Blue, if you're wondering. There is pain as he is stuck so, the rock native to his homeworld being something he is not protected from. His face - his (subjectively) beautiful face - is broken. As he stumbles to his feet he is then taken off them a moment later by Breakdown's redirected fall.

Collin tumbles away, rolling and then clattering into a wall. He lays there, only for a moment, as he pounds his fists down on the floor, enraged. He quickly stands and... instead of moving to engage any of you he turns. To run.

Not away by to a nearby spot on a wall. As he reaches it he mutters something. Still, it sounds like an arrangement of music but the tone of it is soft, like a prayer or an apology. He then draws something from a section of that wall.

He turns to face the lot of you, one-eyed, branishing a pair of cybertronian weapons! Guns. Big ones. Likely ones saved (and rebuilt) from the first dissectee decorating the walls. A pair of shots are fired for Breakdown's chest and the other weapon shoots at the small white one that hurt him.

Breakdown transforms in midair so that what smashes into Collin's stumbling body is the four-wheeled weight of the heavy Cybertronian truck that crashes down. He reverses off him, taking gunfire across his windows and the fat spare tire at his back, to wheel and shriek in a wild spinning track across the ground, following some imaginary obstacle course as he moves to ram the wall at max speed. At the last possible moment, he turns the mad onrush into a leap, changing form midair with a fist flying right for the gun-wielding Collin's face.

Did everyone see that?! Tailgate pauses, himself somewhat shocked that his aim was so true; he is moving again soon enough, this time back along the wall to use it for guidance, keeping his gaze on Collin when the giant pounds his fists and turns tail. Things were bound to go south. Tailgate's features light in surprise, and as the Lefallin shoots at him he shifts into his altmode, the small vehicle attempting to zip out of the line of fire. What a time to test your horsepower, Tailgate.

Blast Off makes his enemy bleed. Alright, THIS is more like it. He sees that much even as he lands with a *thud* on the ground. With a grunt he pushes himself back up- then winces as he is reminded that those hands can't take much weight right now. He rolls, then, using his legs as much as his hands and arms to get himself back on his feet.

And his enemy RUNS. OH no you don't. He starts to run after him- then is brought to a quick halt as Collin turns around and... oops. Ok, not so good anymore.

Blast Off doesn't have much time, or much choice. He can either turn tail and seek cover, and there's no way the Combaticon's pride is going to let him do that. No... unfortunately, there isn't much else to do- except move forward. As the alien shoots at Breakdown and Tailgate, Blast Off does something he never thought he'd do anytime soon- he gathers up his momentum and *leaps* towards Collin, aiming (ha ha) to knock the weapons from the alien's hands- with a mighty (or not so mighty, given Blast Off's less than stellar strength) kick!!!

Collin is not as experienced with these weapons as any of you might be, but he has practiced. On his own, in private. There are singy grunts of frustration as he fails to shoot Breakdown in any way than he intended to. Some damage is good but he clearly wanted more. The shots aimed for Tailgate... miss thanks to the shuttlebot that swats at his weapons. Collin sings his frutration as he manages to hold onto his guns and uses one of them to swat/pistolwhip Blast Off away from him, like the trash he is!

That's when Breakdown hits him.

But Collin twists away in the *opposite* direction, like he was hit by something else. Like some kind of unseen running over by a truck, or at least the collision. He is slammed away, smashing into yet another wall. As he peels himself off he looks... well, still beautiful.

One of those guns has been dropped and with a free hand, Collin grabs something else out of the wall. He sings a taunt as he tosses a device at poor battered Blast Off. A cylinder that magnetically seals itself to the Decepticonls chest, and ticks.

Soundwave immediately recognizes what it is. "Tailgate!" He points at the bomb.

Tailgate is wheeling about in his altmode, righting himself when the close contact tussling with Collin reaches a breaking point-- so to speak. The native lobs the object at Blast Off, and in the moment it takes Tailgate to see the shape of it, Soundwave is pointing and calling at him. It's then that he actually realizes what it is, and what he is most certainly -not-. Still-- people are looking to him for it. The minibot's split second of hesitation is clear for someone so very observant as Soundwave, but to an undiscerning eye he just shifts back out of his altmode and calls to the Combaticon. "Blast Off! To me!" It's as good as a summons will get.

Ah well. There's a REASON that Blast Off doesn't usually go for the up-close-and-personal route as far as combat goes. And he's reminded of it yet again as his kick fails to dislodge Collin's weapons- AND he's swatted away like so much refuse. Ouch. Not only to his body but to his pride. How DARE this alien presume to take on Cybertronians, adorn their metal hides on the wall and speak DOWN to them.

The shuttleformer's violet optics flash a deeper shade of purple, betraying a touch of frsutration and anger as he tries getting to his feet once more... only to have something thrown at his chest.... something that sticks to it and....ticks? Now there is a definite surge of fear that courses through the Combaticon's circuitry... the last time something like this happened he lost use of his hands. If that thing explodes on his *chest*... well, doing without one's hands is bad enough, but doing without one's very *spark* becomes a thousand percent worse.

Blast Off scrambles to his feet, stumbling backwards even as he clumsily tries to grasp the device and pull it off him. This is not helped by the fact that the shuttle's bandaged hands can barely support weight, much less perform any complicated functions. Subconsciously letting out a soft, huffy hiss of surprise and alarm, he fumbles and flails. He can't do it. He... Then Tailgate calls to him. He glances up, optics flashing a pale violet now. Wait, what? There's a split second of hesitation... and then he strides quickly towards the minibot. There's no time to question, just... DO.

The Decepticons were the ones that intended to use distractions to their advantage, but were unprepared for their own weapons - literally - to be used against them. This as the bomb seals itself to Blast Off, Collin retreats, using the gun he has left to spray fire at Breakdown to ensure to keep the clobbercon away.

Soundwave is familiar with the device, remember? "Worry not. I need your hands." Since the small ones he would normally call on, Rumble or frenzy, are back on the Lost Light. "I shall guide you." And he will, giving very direct directions on how to disable the device.

All of that however will allow Collin to make a get away, but not too far away. He can be followed, and while there is much that could be studied or discovered here in this examination room it will have to wait. The enemy is escaping, deeper into that system of tunnels the Cons (and Tailgate and HighDef) came in through.

Up through the tunnels Collin shall go, the temple quaking as they do so. The temple is set into a mountain - rather, a volanco that now suddenly builds and builds. Through the temple, to the roof, where along the way others will rush to join you - comrades you came with and others than came on their own - to the peak of the Temple of the Pure. There Collin and Carrin stand, united. Above them in the atmopshere is the Lost Light, contained in some manner of field, beneath the temple aimed in its direction.
