When Cosmos gets in the air and headed over that way, he'll pass over various charred bits in the forest where ''someone'' had a ~temper tantrum~. In one of those charred bits, two bots that appear to be !Nautica and !First Aid are arguing over a pile of trobbles while !Rodimus stands nearby and looks bored. A boom box is on the ground near !Rodimus's foot. Actually, correct: under his foot. !Rodimus keeps a foot pressed on it, just in idle threat.

"I know! Like I said, ''amazing''!" The Malthusian consequences of unchecked reproduction of organic lifeforms ... yeah, Pipes doesn't know from that. He descends the mountainside somewhat, but holds himself back since the captain declared that he didn't want them to be spotted; he's not sure he can sneak right now, especially with all these adorable organic creatures around. He finds a clutch of them, collected around a particularly vibrant burst of grasses. "Hello, little ones? Do you like your new home?"

Down below, the argument continues, with !Nautica and !First Aid apparently trying to take turns clawing each other open and shoving handfuls of trobbles in each other. Clearly, they want a few, however, they are just as clearly unwilling to carry them. !Rodimus apparently finds this hilarious, and grinds his foot down on !Soundwave with a little wave at the brewing nerd fight like, 'are you seeing this shit'?

Cosmos doesn't like this idea. He doesn't like this idea at all.... but he's also not about to stop it. It is wrong what they are doing both to the organics and !Soundwave! << "I'm going in closer." >> Probably a bad idea but, eh. This entire journey is one funded by bad ideas.

This is ... this is just great. Surrounded by furry friends. Pipes lets himself have a moment, until he hears the reports from Cosmos and Rodimus's, well, ''idea'' for what to do next. He sighs. "OK, OK, I need to go, but you all ''stay safe'', OK? It's probably gonna get a little dangerous." Reluctantly separating himself from the trobble fawning party, he converts to his truck mode and barrels down the mountain, approaching the quarreling !First Aid and !Nautica amid the remaining vegetation. When you're a mini, this is usually an option. Knowing their not-not counterparts, he's isn't too concerned about getting into a tussle with them, but saving the trobbles from their predations is his main goal. Still, he lingers some distance away, waiting for a definitive command. "Hang on, fuzzies," he whispers.

"Cosmos and Pipes are all in, Soundwave," Rodimus says. Probably because they made the fool mistake of listening to him. "Only way we're getting out neat now is winning this fight." Rodimus transforms, ready to head after Pipes, but kicks the door of his alt-mode open long enough for Soundwave to hitch a ride: "Get in."

Cosmos glances out from his cover, scanning over their opponents as he waits a moment for the others to get into position. !Rodimus most definitely isn't the weakest target. Neither is their nautica, but their First Aid... << "First Aid. Moving in 3. 2. 1." >> On the unmentioned 0, Cosmos lets out a loud whistle, calling their attention his way instead of Pipes' before firing straight at the weaker of the squabbling pair.

Pipes waits ... and waits ... while these monsters from another universe ''abuse'' the poor trobbles. It's all he can do to wait until Cosmos calls out who to take on first. He does manage to wait until the implicit 'zero' before transforming back to root mode, popping out good ol' Jake and Elwood, and letting loose a volley of shots at !First Aid. Whatever that doppelganger was talking about doing to those trobbles, it ain't happening.

As the whistle splits the air, the alternate Lost Lighters fall to the side, seeking cover. Pipes and Cosmos manage to just barely singe !First Aid's paint, but he's startlingly fast, and out of the way much more quickly than they might reasonable expect given the speed of their own First Aid. In the next beat, !First Aid and !Nautica are back to back with guns raised, tracking Cosmos in the air. !Rodimus turns his gun on ground level, however, tracking the source of those shots to find -- Pipes. His grin splits, wide as their own Rodimus, but much, much more evil. Seriously. It's the Ambus insignia. It just does not look good on him.

And Soundwave is VERY greatful that Rodimus listened to him. At first it's not easy to see the teeny tapedeck shoot through the air like a bullet. It becomes insanely visible when it snaps open to reveal Soundwave as he gains his full size. A solid foot plants on the ground- any trobbles become puddles underneath- as he steps and cranks a fist forward with all the power his ejection and sudden mass can give it. "Correction: I am far larger," Soundwave states, punch aimed for !Rodimus's Autobadge.

!Soundwave has no visible optics but he seems more than well aware of what's going on. Like the !Autobots being underattack. His music blips into silence- its the shock of there being ''two'' Rodimii. There's soft white noise before a new sound crackles on. With the way Soundwave's look burns unti !Rodimus, one might mistake that ''he's'' the one that can catch fire, not the Rodimii. "I do not need to be faster," he intones flatly. He clearly thinks this will be easy with his tone.

Darn, this fake Nautica's armor is just as tough as the fake First Aid's! Pipes's swing at her clangs off, and he skids back into a crouch to get ready for his next move, while he wonders how they can be so durn tough. "Focus, OK!" Cosmos had called out the fake First Aid, so Pipes turns and leaps at him, crashing through the protective thickets as he brings both pistol grips down. The blast from him bounces off Pipes's armor again; not gonna stop him.

Summary /Dude./

As Unicron continues to carve his way through the universe in pursuit of an unknown goal, the Lost Light crew is left to try to gather information about him and about his morale-busting minions where they can. That brings them here, to this uninhabited star system, where earlier this week whole shiploads of trobbles were unloaded onto the waving grass plains of a temperate world. They return now to find significant portions of the main continent devastated by a plague of trobbles sweeping across field and forest devouring everything in their path. They reproduce with a speed that frankly staggers the imagination.

On a mountain overlooking a broad, once-forested valley, a spacebridge portal pops open to deposit our heroes. Space-based recon drones left behind have reported the arrival of Unicron's advance forces: somewhere, down there in the valley, Rodimus's other self can be found, probably burning things to the sweet tunes of Soundwave. There are two others also reported present, but yet to be identified by recon. As Rodimus crosses through and gets a sense of the scale of the trobble infestation, he says, "Organics are so gross."

Cosmos was recruited to help with recon, doing as Soundwave had suggested and offering his services to be of use. He hadn't quite expected to be sent out so soon, though... Doesn't really matter in the end, as all thoughts of the situation come to a screeching halt as he sees what lies before them. "Primus they... they multiply fast..." He had hoped that the creatures wouldn't be hurt but a hunting season does need to be called on the things. "Um.. I should.. go scout out from the air I guess.." Don't mind his almost dazed tone, he's still trying to process how the trobbles multiply so rapidly.

Putting himself in harm's way is pretty much Pipes's MO, so when the call went out to the combat division for this mission, Pipes didn't hesitate. Sure, his recently debadged captain is in charge, but Pipes has at least an idea of why the debadging may not be so bad after all, so it didn't really give him pause. Not that he's taken off his own. But there were other motivating factors: first, adventuring! Outside Rigard, at least; it's been awhile since they landed. Although Pipes isn't all that prone to wanderlust, he is prone to wanting to be useful. Second, trobbles. There had been a few errant fuzzballs that had infiltrated his makeshift fortress in Cargo Bay 15, but not enough for him to really appreciate them. A chance to see, well, hordes of them was a net positive for him. Thusly: "You know, organics aren't so bad. It's just, like, another way for there to be life! It's so amazing." They're high up on a mountain, so the trobble density is low-to-nonexistent, and so despite the primary goal of the mission Pipes finds himself looking around for nearby furry balls to talk to.

Soundwave is a step behind Rodimus, looming over his left shoulder. Its a habit to fall in such a position- though usually the mech leading is taller than he. Rodimus is not. Short. "Affirmative," he agrees with the Captain, scanning the surrounding area. His vents hiss. Ugh, something sounds awful. Music is gross. He motions in the direction of the sound. "I hear something... Horrendous in that direction," he updates everyone. Scout thataway.

"Careful, Cosmos. We want to spot them, but we don't want them to spot us. You got me?" Rodimus lifts his head, like he expects Cosmos to already be in the air. But -- no. Nope, it's the trobbles. They sort of slow everyone down.

The roll across the valley and up the sides, not so far from the outcropping where they stand. They bundle around the base of the trees nearby, clumped in little furry piles.

"I get your enthusiasm for life, Pipes, and I appreciate it, but there weren't this many a week ago." Actually, there were zero a week ago, but Rodimus has a somewhat flexible sense of time. He turns his head in the direction of Soundwave's update, visor clicking down over his eyes. "Okay, Cosmos, you heard Soundwave: go see what there is to see, huh?"

When Cosmos gets in the air and headed over that way, he'll pass over various charred bits in the forest where someone had a ~temper tantrum~.

<FS3> Cosmos rolls Transportation: Great Success. (4 8 6 5 1 8 3 7 2 8 5 2 2 8)

"I know! Like I said, amazing!" The Malthusian consequences of unchecked reproduction of organic lifeforms ... yeah, Pipes doesn't know from that.

Cosmos gives a simple, nervous, nod before jumping in the air and transforming. His alt mode might be ridiculous looking but one can't deny that it is very quiet and very maneuverable. Soon the mech is zipping over the treeline- err... what is left of the treeline. Internally frowning, Cosmos opens a comm line back to the others, << “It looks like there's your alternate Rodimus, along with their versions of First Aid, Nautica, and…” >> cosmos can't quite make out what that is from here, so he zooms in with his on board cameras and nearly stalls, << “Soundwave.” >> He had heard a little about the Decepticons being enslaved in the alternate world but never actually put two and two together, in a sense. It's almost surreal to see it in person.

Cosmos snaps out of it and adds, << “It- it's not looking good.” >> He sends the images back to the others and waits for further orders.

The trobbles are really quite large, compared to Pipes, being half a Tailgate in size. (Tailgates are the official unit of measurement, not Pipes.) They are also quite friendly, and roll over to Pipes with enough enthusiasm that they threaten to drown him, crowding around him rather than the vegetation. They surround him, a warm and fuzzy and gently vibrating pile, all chirring.

Soundwave stays close to Rodimus, giving Pipes a disgusted huff as he watches Cosmos go off. It's hard to make out any words with that infernal noise with the racket of fields of trobbles. He concentrates to make out any conversations. And then Cosmos sends his updates with pictures.

Soundwave stiffens, armor clamping down tight as he tries not to feel so angry. That's not him. Not Rodimus. But seeing an Autobot- even a purple badged one- stepping on a Decepticon is so profoundly... Wrong. That bothers him more than that being his double. He exvents heated, angry air harshly, looking to Rodimus. He's seeing this too, yes?

Tension ripples up Rodimus's spinal strut: each joint snaps precisely on the next as he draws from a careless slouch to a battle alert readiness. He looks just about ready to throw himself the rest of the way down into the valley and start a brawl. "First Aid, Nautica, and a reluctant Soundwave. That puts the odds in our favor, I think." He's always been an optimist. "I feel like going down there and putting my foot in his face is a really good way to get a sense of his upgrades, don't you? I mean we're here to gather data, right?"

He's really a tactical genius, if you think about it.

<FS3> Cosmos rolls Stealth-2: Good Success. (2 8 6 6 4 8)

Skimming back over the treeline, Cosmos drops down into what is left of the tree cover and takes up a hiding spot to do one of the things he does best- observe. Though the trobble that starts climbing on his foot doesn't help his concentration, << "captain, it looks like they are fighting with each other," >> He reports, voice falling to a hushed whisper over the line, << "If you all are going to make a move sooner might actually be better than later." >> Catch them off guard and kick their afts, captain!

As Cosmos skims closer, the volume of the ongoing fight both covers any noise he makes and draws attention from his approach.

"--need a few to begin the process of altering them to process organic lifeforms!" !First Aid says as he attempts to claw open !Nautica's cockpit.

"If you want them so bad, you carry them!" !Nautica brings her wrench down on !First Aid's hand as he reaches for her.

Soundwave is equally eager to- how did Rodimus put it?- put his foot in !Rodimus's face. But not eager enough to just act. He's a look before you leap type. "Rodimus, data can be gathered from a distnce," he offers as a voice of reason. "We are still not entirely sure what we are up against."

This is ... this is just great. Surrounded by furry friends. Pipes lets himself have a moment, until he hears the reports from Cosmos and Rodimus's, well, idea for what to do next. He sighs. "OK, OK, I need to go, but you all stay safe, OK? It's probably gonna get a little dangerous." Reluctantly separating himself from the trobble fawning party, he converts to his truck mode and barrels down the mountain, approaching the quarreling !First Aid and !Nautica amid the remaining vegetation. When you're a mini, this is usually an option. Knowing their not-not counterparts, he's isn't too concerned about getting into a tussle with them, but saving the trobbles from their predations is his main goal. Still, he lingers some distance away, waiting for a definitive command. "Hang on, fuzzies," he whispers.

<FS3> Pipes rolls Stealth: Good Success. (7 5 7)

Get in, loser. We're going heroing.

"Cosmos, call the weakest target. I want you and Pipes to open fire on that one. We have an advantage. Let's push it," Rodimus calls. He and Soundwave will roll in for round two. Hopefully after Pipes and Cosmos make a dent.

<FS3> Cosmos rolls Observer: Great Success. (8 7 6 8 3 5 6 8 4)

Pipes waits ... and waits ... while these monsters from another universe abuse the poor trobbles.

<COMBAT> !rodimus passes.
<COMBAT> !nautica passes.
<COMBAT> Pipes attacks !first Aid with Pipes's Guns Shooting Mode but MISSES!
<COMBAT> Rodimus passes.
<COMBAT> Cosmos attacks !first Aid with Blaster Pistol and MISSES!
<COMBAT> Soundwave passes.
<COMBAT> !first Aid passes.

"Look, we got more of those pests to deal with! Over here!" !Rodimus calls, reorienting !Nautica and !First Aid and sparing Cosmos the rain of gunfire that was about to burst over his hull.

"Why don't you try picking on someone your own size?" Rodimus asks, crashing into the clearing next to Pipes. He flings open his door to allow Soundwave to eject into the fray with as full a transfer of momentum as possible. This time, he does it just before he transforms. He listened to the suggestion; he remembered last time. Time to put Soundwave's idea into action.

Cosmos takes his shot and ... misses ... entirely... huh. Now very much exposed Cosmos realizes not only did he miss, but Pipes as well. Oh.. that is not good. His fear for his own safety quickly ramps up as that horror is shifted towards Pipes, as the others' attention seems to refocus. The one time I want to be shot at and I'm not! Raising his weapon again, Cosmos fires again at the alternate medic just as Soundwave is ejected from the captain's alt for a surprise attack.

Somehow, that First Aid impostor evades Pipes's shots! That's ... sort of unexpected, but at least now he's got something else to deal with besides innocent trobbles. He keeps shooting, shouting "Get away from those innocent organic creatures!" Surely this time Brainstorm's creations will prove their worth, right?

And Soundwave is VERY greatful that Rodimus listened to him. At first it's not easy to see the teeny tapedeck shoot through the air like a bullet. It becomes insanely visible when it snaps open to reveal Soundwave as he gains his full size. A solid foot plants on the ground- any trobbles become puddles underneath- as he steps and cranks a fist forward with all the power his ejection and sudden mass can give it. "Correction: I am far larger," Soundwave states, punch aimed for !Rodimus's Autobadge.

<COMBAT> Rodimus attacks !first Aid with Rodimus's Energy Bow - Moderate wound to Right Arm.
<COMBAT> Cosmos attacks !first Aid with Blaster Pistol - Light wound to Right Arm.

!Soundwave has no visible optics but he seems more than well aware of what's going on. Like the !Autobots being underattack. His music blips into silence- its the shock of there being two Rodimii. There's soft white noise before a new sound crackles on. It's got a heavy beat with intense vocals, the drums and guitar giving away to pure rock. This one goes to the castaways. Who break their backs slaving every day. All these things I can do without. Gotta burn it down, burn it down.

Rodimus is fast. He likes to brag about it. He moves fast, he hits hard. It's emblazoned on his frame, flames as much a warning as a boast. --but !Rodimus is faster. He fires off a shot at Pipes, hitting him dead on, and still has time to pivot away from Soundwave's punch. "Larger and stupider if you think you can keep up with me. Sure, bring it on: I could use another clock." He kicks !Soundwave on his way to shifting his targets, firing at Soundwave. "MUSIC," !Rodimus screams -- a beat late. The music's on.

Rodimus draws his bow and levels a shot, firing straight at First Aid's right arm, then moving to retarget his left with each shot: "Fire at his arms!" he calls at Cosmos. "Keep him from holding a gun!"

!First Aid naturally takes that moment to correct them: "An easy mistake to make, but--." Weaponry unfolds from his chest and shoulders: shoulder cannons rising and mounted missiles peeking from holes.

"--oh. Well, old fashioned way it is, then." Nice try, Rodimus.

Cosmos can't help but let out an almost hysterical chuckle at the sudden music, a little bit of irony for what seems to be an already losing fight. The UFO decides to give his blaster one last try before formally diving into what is quickly becoming a brawl. He takes aim at !First Aid again only to spot !Rodimus dodging Soundwave's (admittedly, very awesome) attack. And then !First Aid's arms change. OK that's gonna go nowhere fast! Switching targets, Cosmos finally hits the ground proper and aims for the dodging not-captain while hoping to avoid !First Aid's weaponry easier on the planet surface. Hopefully he will be too distracted to see it coming.

A hit! Well, at least it's a hit, although !First Aid doesn't seem all that fazed by Pipes's shot. Hopefully it's enough to distract him from the trobbles, so ... oh, look at all of that weaponry he's got ... well, whatever, this fake Nautica is probably still thinking about hurting them. Time to switch up Pipes's pistols to bashing mode OW. The fake First Aid's counterattack is absorbed by his chest armor, but not the fake captain's. But he's gotta keep moving, so he takes a vigorous swing at his next target and tries not to think about how his torso looks right now.

With the way Soundwave's look burns unti !Rodimus, one might mistake that he's the one that can catch fire, not the Rodimii. "I do not need to be faster," he intones flatly. Being at such close range, Soundwave makes for another punch. Not as epic as his last one would have been but one with power and heft behind it still. "I simply need to best you." He clearly thinks this will be easy with his tone.

When Cosmos lands, and !Rodimus seeming to be busy, !Soundwave takes his chance to change up the music. With an obvious mirth, the rock swings over to something with more piano. It's raining men! Hallelujah! It's raining men! Amen!

!Rodimus laughs, rather more sneering a laugh than their captain. He brings his fists together, the pipes on his arms hot with the blast that catches Soundwave's arm as he swings in to punch. He ducks the punch (because faster he might be, better armored he might be, but taller he is not in all of his upgrades) and pivots, coming around to fire at Soundwave again. "I'm gonna turn every button you have into a snooze button and turn you into a lighter." That last one is presumably shot as Rodimus as !Rodimus tries to clear his way through to a 1:1 punch-off. He doesn't seem to have spotted the lack of badge yet. He's reaching to claw Soundwave out of the way when Cosmos scorches his hand, knocking him back with a snarl.

"Guys, we need to focus them down!" Rodimus calls, watching as everyone reorients on the juciest targets instead of the weakest. "Nice shot, though, Cosmos. Course, with an ego that big, probably hard to miss." Never ... mind ... that Soundwave has. That's NOT THE POINT!! The fact seems to register with Rodimus after a beat, as he adds, "And oily enough you can't get a hand on him!" There we go. Nice save. NICE SAVE.

!First Aid keeps track of Pipes through the thicket, but can't get a clear shot on any weak points, scorching his armor. "Don't let them ruin my specimins!"

!Nautica's having similar difficulty punching through Rodimus's armor: whatever their upgrades are, a nerd is still a nerd no natter the universe. (Sometimes they are evil nerds, though.) "Perhaps we could displace your specimins through a quantum shunt?" She is focused on the real problem: not having organics in her interior.

Cosmos' pede nearly slips out from under him as the music very suddenly and jarringly changes. It also brings his attention to snap over to the boombox on the ground. A look is sent towards !Rodimus, checking to see where his attention is focused- hopefully on the much bigger Soundwave, their captain insulting him, or his injured hand- before using his thrusters to lunge across the area in a grab for Soundwave's alternate as he takes another- honestly random- potshot at !First Aid on the way down that is more likely to miss than anything.

<FS3> Cosmos rolls Unarmed: Great Success. (7 7 4 4 5 1 8 5 7)

Soundwave pulls his injured arm away, seeming to be unphased by the pain. It does nothing to detract him from his mission. Which just so happens to beat !Rodimus into the ground He goes to grab !Rodimus and force him back, armor flaring as his other hand pulls out his rifle. He presses it as close as he can to !Rodimus before shooting off a shot. "No Autobot has domain over me," he says- nearly snarls in monotone- at the threat against his person.

<COMBAT> !rodimus has been **KO'd**!

Although Cosmos's shot at !First Aid is wide enough to be considered wild, he is unerring in his focus on !Soundwave. Despite the fact that !Soundwave's locked in the form a tiny little brick that's easily missed on the ground beneath the trampled trobbles, Cosmos lunges and grabs !Soundwave in hand. Of course, he also draws !Rodimus's attention with that act:

"Get your own!" !Rodimus shouts, beginning to grab for Cosmos only to be hauled back by Soundwave's hand. He sneers in answer to that snarled threat, but anything he might want to say is cut off by a shot to the chest. It pierces his armor and shocks his spark, sending !Rodimus to his knees in stasis lock.

!First Aid and !Nautica are, briefly, stunned. Then !Nautica slams a button on her wrench, one that locks her and !First Aid in a shimmering shield. They pop out of existence and then back in over !Rodimus. They take him by the arms and the shimmering shield covers him as well.

"If I can't have these specimens, I'll make do with your cassettes," !First Aid tells !Soundwave, and then they are gone.

"What just happened?" Rodimus asks, looking at the patch of ground that formerly held his purpled self with a stunned expression.

Cosmos is just as stunned as Rodimus, looking up from where he literally faceplanted on the ground with !Soundwave raised above his head in his wild grab. He is absolutely stunned he managed to get the boombox and remain somewhat whole in the process. "I... I have no idea..." They were losing and then suddenly no- wait. Cassettes? Did she just say... Oh no. Guilt and fear gripping his spark again, Cosmos scrambles upright and looks down at the alternate in his hands, "Oh no... Oh Primus what did I do..."

Pipes finally gets a slightly satisfying body blow in on the fake First Aid before a sudden force field of some sort pops into place, and then his opponent flits away. "What the?" Guns still in hand, he turns to see the fake captain ... taken down? That's ... that's amazing! "Yeah, you won't have these specimens!" he shouts after the evil fake ne'er-do-wells as they vanish. When his systems finally start winding down, he starts feeling his chest wound, and with one hand over it he jogs through the underbrush to the others. "We won! We beat 'em!" He probably didn't hear the bit about any cassettes.

Soundwave's proverbial hackles raise. !Rodimus is not getting away and he's certainly not getting to Cosmos. His vents practically hiss out steam as he just fumes over !Rodimus's infuriating double. He doesn't stop when his shot holds true, nor when the purple fiend falls to his knees. He goes to kick the not Captain back- to step on him. "Soundwave superior," he states, hoping those words stick to that stasis-locked processor.

But !Rodimus is gone and those other dopplegangers-

"Rodimus!" Soundwave turns, not even paying attention to his double. He hears a threat to cassettes and fears for his own. (His ego dictates this is about him of course. "They're going to-" but his flash of panic is stamped out because something is starting to hurt with the heat of battle dying down. He looked down at his shattered chassis, insides scorched some of the delicate arms twitsted and broken. Hurt a lot. Soundwave reaches out to support himself on something.

!Soundwave is silent. Actually silent, no more music come from him, only !Faid's threat rings out. When he talks, its nothing like his big, blue other self. "Dudes! That was totally radical! Dude, did you see his face, dude? Outta sight- I mean, literally, I didn't see it but also, musta been outta sight! But look, Dudes, you didn't have to- listen. Rescuin' me is fine and all but I ain't- I can't. If you can just air ship me back, that'd be far out, yeah?"

Kicking himself out of his stunned freeze, Rodimus moves to Soundwave and under the reach of his hand, offering himself as support. "Easy there," he says, steadying Soundwave with a hand placed very lightly on his back. He looks uneasily as the wreckage of his chassis, and opens a comm back to the Lost Light and Rigard: "We're gonna need that spacebridge soon and Soundwave's coming in with serious damage." He grins over at Pipes, only lightly singed. "We definitely won. Nice work. You and Cosmos definitely surprised them." Didn't hit them, but surprised them. "You kicked the scrap out of that purple junk heap, Soundwave." He pauses, looking over at the other Soundwave in Cosmos's hands. "Uh. I mean -- my Soundwave. You kicked the scrap out of--. Me." He pauses. "We really need to figure out a better way to put that. Anyway, what do you mean, ship you back? Cosmos just saved you!"

Cosmos' distress only grows (after the initial confusion of hearing what that Soundwave actually sounds like) when its confirmed that he has probably just killed all of the alternate Soundwave's cassettes just by acting on his dumb selfless autobot instincts. "I- I am so sorry..." Voice raised about an octave in panic, Cosmos turns back to look at the others, "We have to-!" And then he sees their Soundwave seem to start keeling over. And up goes the distress another notch. One more and the mech will be having a panic attack. Running over, putting a hand on Soundwave's other arm to help support the mech, Cosmos holds up !Soundwave so they can at least pretend they are all talking like normal mechs and not mechs-to-boombox, "Rodimus, he doesn't have his cassettes!" I killed not-Soundwave's cassettes!!

Pipes gets the feeling he's the only one happy with how this turned out. But he can appreciate their concern for ... fake Soundwave's cassettes? He suppresses the urge to marvel at little old fake Soundwave - he wonders if he transforms, will he get just as big? "Well, I guess it's his choice? But ... well, can you tell us anything about what's going on?" Pipes's chest damage is starting to sting, so he finds a fallen tree nearby to sit on and wait for the space bridge.

Soundwave leans against Rodimus. "I understand, Captain. Your compliment, noted. Hnn." The burning in his chassis is beginning to grow at an alarming rate. He's glad he got !Rodimus before anything worse happened. When Cosmos comes over, he shifts to lean more of his weight against Cosmos instead of the Captain. He looks rather offended by his double, pushing the growing pain away.

"I appreciate the save. I mean it! It was totes epic, dudes. But this dude is right- I ain't got my little dudes with me. And the last time-" The white Boombox physically shivers. "The Hatchet got my... Dudes, it's not good. Now, if you could save them. Dudes, that'd be some awesome sauce on a rocket! Definitly do that. Frumbl- Rumble and Frenzy really need it." !Soundwave is not immune to their, hum, nickname. "I can't just leave them... But yeah! Questions, I can answer those. I can help, my dudes!" Victory trumpets blare from his speakers. "We're- They're working for one bad dude. Unicorn? No, no! Totes named 'Unicron.' Bad vibes."

As Soundwave transfers his weight to Cosmos, Rodimus slowly eases away. Steady? Good. He steps clear to turn around and get a better look at Soundwave's chest, wincing. "Well that looks awful." He's probably really glad that's Soundwave and not him. "We've been tracking Unicron. We can drop you in a lifepod in his path if you want, I guess? Will that be enough?" he asks, sounding a little bewildered. What do they do when they save someone and they go 'nah, though'. THIS IS NOT HOW HEROING WORKS.

<FS3> Cosmos rolls Body+Body: Success. (6 2 7 1 1 3)

Cosmos widens his stance a bit to properly support more of Soundwave's weight, probably willing to drag him back if needed. Don't worry Soundwave, he's got you. If any other situation he might be loving having his crush leaning against him, but the situation they are in is souring those feelings just a bit. They need to get him back to the medibay fast.

Then Cosmos' attention turns back to !Soundwave, "How many of your world's autobots are here, do you know which ones? And do.. Do you think there is anything we can do to lessen what might.. what might happen to you or Rumble and Frenzy?"

Sitting on his tree trunk, Pipes clutches his chest wound with one hand, leans a little heavily on the other, and thinks. Cosmos already asked some really good questions, though. "Is there, like, a base or a ship or something where they're based from? Where they keep your little dudes? Oh, and also, how come they're so tough? I could hardly dent them, but, well," and he reveals his damage for a moment befor shielding it again. "I really thought they'd be about like our, um, versions." Not that Pipes spends time judging whose tin cans he could kick if it came down to it.

!Soundwave laughs- its breezy but a bit forced, his synthesizer being used to emphasize his emotions as he speaks instead of nullifying. "I can't keep track of you Autobot dudes. Your hits and kicks all feel the same. A lot, I guess. A lot, a lot. And- hah- yeah dude. If you wanna help my lil dudes, you'll put me in that lil life pod you mentioned and send me off. Rodders likes a target in his tantrums, I'm sure everyone will be glad to have me back. Ain't no helping me, sweet green dude. As for the rest- the answer is the big bad hungry dude. Unicron and Unicron. It was crazy. Autodudes are gnarlier- not the good gnarly!- and meaner thanks to him."

"I really don't like that idea," Rodimus says unhappily, looking back at !Soundwave. "Like -- really, really. I'd rather deliver a bomb to their faces than a victim for them to torture." He looks between Pipes and Soundwave, then hits the comm again, calling in the spacebridge. "Come on, let's get you guys to medical. You're looking rough. We can figure out the rest of this as we go. What if we offered you back in exchange for some of your cassettes? We can start getting them out from under their power so that next time--." He mimes a pow. "We're not leaving you, I hope you know. We're not letting Unicron go without an answer. We can't tell you anything else if you're going back, but -- just know that. Take heart."

"Yeah, Unicron." Pipes remembers his recent surfing studies, and knows exactly what sort of "gnarly" this version of Soundwave is talking about. "Thanks ... dude. I hope your little grommets are OK." His wound now starting to pull his attention away, he leaves the negotiating of how !Soundwave is returned to his captivity to Rodimus, although freeing some of his cassettes sounds like a good idea, if they won't just punish the rest of them for it. Pipes curls on himself slightly and tries to imagine himself back in the cargo bay.

Cosmos doesn't like the idea of sending him back either but... he really doesn't think that !Rodimus would be willing to do an exchange. "... I'm still so sorry, I didn't think..." Cosmos doesn't break down from guilt or worry, but he most certainly crumples just a tad under it- almost seeming to collapse in on himself just slightly. My crush is probably half dead on one side, his alternate is going back to his evil captors on the other, I probably ended up killing a few mechs by being heroic, we now know for sure our evil alternates are Unicron-empowered, and on top of that once not-Rodimus is fixed he's probably going to come after us even harder because he is a total egomaniac. This most certainly was not a victory and I need a drink after this! ... At least his Soundwave kicked the evil Captain's aft. ".... Let's just get back and you two to a medibay."

Cosmos pauses, a thought suddenly occurring to him, "Do you think you could hide an encrypted comm channel from them? Maybe funnel us information or keep it in case of an emergency?"

"You and me both, dude. But I can't- I won't abandone my little dudes. And everyone else- they need me! Few footprints on my skidplates isn't a problem so long as I can hear them sometimes." !Soundwave lets out a burst of excited, exstatic applause. "I appreciate the thought but rewind- Exchange me! DUDE! You're totally brilliant, red Rodders! Maybe work that angle. I mean, what's the worst that can happen? Just snail mail me back?" He's accepted his fate and is quite upbeat about it. "Maybe while you nice dudes got me you can look at the collar. They're... Well, if we didn't have these... Life would get back to being totally off the hook. I can hardly hear a thought with it out, let alone a comm. I'm not sure I can help any more outside of dropping some sick beats." That's when some 80's The Touch begins to play. Sick beats.

Soundwave's visor light narrows. This is a terrible song. "I would appreciate assistance to the medibay. Thank you, Captain. Cosmos. Pipes, possibly in need of assistance as well."

"I got you, Pipes," Rodimus says, moving over to offer him an arm. In an unusual twist, it's just that -- an offer -- rather than him moving in as certainly to offer aid as he did with Soundwave. He grins to himself as !Soundwave cues up his next song, promising, "We'll do whatever we can." The spacebridge portal pops into place in the clearing. "Hurry up, guys, and make sure those trobbles don't follow you through, okay? I think we just got rid of the last of them."

Cosmos tries not to wince at the sudden onslaught of 'sick beats' in the form of what sounds like an '80s rock rift. Once that initial shock is through, the UFO helps Soundwave through the portal, having to balance !Soundwave on a hip with a quick apology for the probably humiliating position, "Well... I can still tell you how to get on the channel in case you ever manage it. There are still a few encrypted spacer channels floating around out there, just have to dig them back up." But for now, Soundwave (and pipes!) needs to get medical attention so he will leave the alternate to someone else once they get back.

He also remembers to gently dislodge a trobble from his foot.

Pipes takes up the captain's offer of an arm while keeping a hand over his chest. "Aye aye, captain. At least they're safe for now." Looks like it's back to the medibay again, but this time it was definitely worth it.

Soundwave continues to glare at his double as he's led to the medibay, needing more help from Cosmos than he'd be willing to admit. He looks supremely offended by his double.

!Soundwave, however, jibber jabbers away. "This is great though, take the purple mustache dude down a peg. Amazing. And, oh man, if you dudes could let me stretch my legs- forget the mass displace ment. I just wanna walk dudes. You got music in this universe? Thanks again, did I already tell you dudes that? Keep fightin' the good fight! Lotta Deceptidudes needs some hope. And dudes-" On and on, all while music jams.
